About Me
Hey! I’m Joe and I’m a Philly-based director of photography. I’ve been working in the film industry since I graduated from college in 2011, and have been working as a full-time freelance DP since 2016. Since then, I’ve shot numerous commercials, documentaries, comedy sketches, music videos, and short films, many of which have won or been nominated for awards including an Emmy nomination and several Addy wins.
I gravitate toward projects with a soul, and directors that I deeply connect with both on and off set. It’s so important to be on the same page as your collaborators when it comes to vision and values. When we’re finishing each other’s sentences and sharing the same brain, I know we’re in a good spot for tapping into that creative flow on set. I also strive for that same shorthand with the crew to keep things as efficient as possible. When the connection is real, the images make themselves.
I’ve shot documentary features, narrative shorts, national commercials, and even a Netflix special. When I’m not on set, I’m often spending time with my wife, Emily, and our cat, Noodle, lifting at the gym, or hanging with friends at a concert.
